Grace |
|
Grace was the filly that Miss Annie miscarried after she
arrived at a rescue. It was a sad reminder to
us of how cruel humans can be. First to neglect a horse, then to
allow her to get pregnant with no thought to what she and the foal would
go through.
Annie was probably about 4 to 5 months along based on the size of
Grace when she miscarried. With the neglect she had suffered and
based on her age (22), she just couldn't handle the strain of keeping
herself and her baby alive. She mourned the passing of her filly
and then focused on getting well herself. The sad matter is that
while the miscarriage helped her temporarily, she ended up being
euthanized because the neglect hade been too much for her,
Grace was perfect in every way. There were no signs of
deformity or anything that would have marred her life had she been
born.
We believe that Grace was at the Rainbow Bridge to meet her mom when
it came time for her to cross. What a reunion that must have been!
